On Campus Employment Programs
Ontario Work Study (for College students)
The Ontario Work Study Program (OWSP) is designed to assist full time college students by providing part-time employment on campus. Funding for the program is provided by the provincial government.
The Work Study program has been a valuable tool in providing Durham College students with access to relevant, meaningful, part-time on campus employment. There is a limit on the number of hours students may work, which allows the opportunity to earn necessary income but does not interfere with studies.
Applications to participate in the program are available on the MyCampus website, under the DC Student tab in the DC Financial Aid + Awards section.
Who Qualifies For OWSP?
To be eligible for the Work Study program, a registered full-time student must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and meet the Ontario residency requirements as defined by OSAP. Students must demonstrate financial need that is not currently being met by their available resources. This financial need must be reasonably achievable through participation in the Work Study Program. Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA each semester to remain eligible for this program.
