Are you interested in sharing your language and culture with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) and Durham College (DC) community? Do you want to be involved in one of the largest events on campus?  

Register to be an exhibitor in the 2017 Mother Language Festival!

The Mother Language Festival has seen amazing student participation in recent years. The 2016 festival had more than 17 unique exhibits with 120 students participating as exhibitors. More than 500 students, faculty and staff attended.

This year's festival will take place Thursday, March 9We hope to make the 2017 Mother Language Festival even bigger—and that means more amazing exhibits led by terrific UOIT and DC students like you!

A group of peers interested in showcasing the same language and culture can register to host an exhibit together. Each group and unique exhibit will be given a spot at the festival and a budget.

Groups who have registered for an exhibit are expected to:

Create a visually appealing and interactive display that focuses on their language and culture.

Attend one mandatory Exhibitor Information Session prior to the festival. 

    • Wednesday, February 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m.; or
    • Wednesday, February 15 from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.

Arrive by 11 a.m. on the day of the festival to set up their exhibit.

Display and staff their exhibit for the entire duration of the festival (1 to 4:30 p.m.).

Adhere to UOIT and DC student codes of conduct and policies.

Stamp participants' 'passports' on the day of the festival once they have interacted with your exhibit.

Meet all deadlines as outlined by the Mother Language Festival Organizing Committee.
